To ensure your website is loading as quickly as possible, you'll want to optimize your images before uploading them to your file library.
MegaSpork recommends using TinyPNG to optimize your images before upload. The free version allows you to optimze up to 20 images at a time, and premium versions are available - including a WordPress plugin, which we also recommend!
- Gather up all the images you want to optimize and put them in a folder on your computer's desktop.
- Open your browser and go to https://tinypng.com/
- Select up to 20 images at a time and drag them into the TinyPNG website. The images will automatically begin uploading and optimizing. When they're done, click the Download ZIP button to retrieve the optimized images.
- Unzip the downloaded file, and voila! You now have optimized images you can upload to your website's media library.
